Summary: The apartment was a nice place to stay for downtime after our days exploring Xunatunich and San Ignacio. A few things to note/be prepared for: - We had a little difficulty finding the apartment initially. The host gave us some directions on how to locate, but we drove in at night from Belize City and there aren't street signs. There's also a turn-off for the main road when entering Benque that's easy to miss. When we got closer to the apartment, it was also difficult to spot the mile marker or surrounding businesses near the apartment at night - so I would just recommend trying to drive in during daylight hours. Once you find it - it's easy to get to day or night. - The apartment is located up a rock and gravel road - so you may consider renting a car with 4WD in the event that it's rainy. Also note - there are roads/streets in the town and surrounding villages like this - so it doesn't hurt if you're going to be out exploring the area. - There's an apartment office on the first floor - so if you need anything or have questions about anything in the apartment, there's someone there to help during the day. I also think the host's dad lives nearby and can help if you have questions. We didn't need anything, but it was nice to know we had that option. - The AC units in the bedrooms work great, but there's not one in the main living area - only fans. So if you're planning to cook or spend a lot of time in the living room/kitchen - just note it may get a little warm - depending on when you stay here. It wasn't an issue for me, but I also know this is common in Central/South America. So if you're big on AC - just be advised. - While the apartment is remote, it is located off the main road/highway - so there was a little bit of truck/car noise at night. I would just advise bringing ear plugs if you're a lite sleeper.
