Summary: I found this property looking for a layover spot. The more I looked at the listing the more appealing it became so I added an extra night. So glad I did!! I rented a car at BZE and drive and it was unbelievably easy to find/get to. The location gives you the impression you’re very far from a city. It’s quiet and private. There is currently construction going on to add new houses, which was not an issue AT ALL. I am very happy for the owners and managers for the added revenue (and there will be a pool!) but I can say that it will be a little less private when they are booking. Nonetheless our stay was incredible and the workers were so considerate. Kenny stopped by with his daughters and they are all so wonderful! We spent only one full day so we hung out with the howler monkeys and visited the Belize zoo and wildlife education center, which is only a very easy 30 minute drive and worth a visit. The monkeys on the property were soooo cool. There is currently an adolescent who is quite curious about people and LOVES to show off. He came right up on the porch to show us his yoga moves. That said, remember they are wild animals - don’t touch or feed them and latch the doors when you leave. The crocodile only made her appearance when we were out but she’s there! Just searching for her and watching the monkeys is activity in itself! There’s a good kitchen and a restaurant about a 3 minute drive away (black orchid, where you are allowed access to the pool - great food and service!).
